Thank you. Text Box: FEATURED AREA: BLOCKS What are children learning as they build with blocks? They develop spatial awareness as they manipulate various pieces. They develop math skills as they compare sizes & weights. They learn to problem solve as they try different construction ideas. They practice social skills as they negotiate materials & space. Text Box: Notes to parents: We are greatly enjoying the beginning of our new school year with your child. Thank you for your positive approach which helps your child think of school as a place he or she wants to be. The children are getting used to small group times doing yoga, creative movement, science & art. Thank you for helping them find shapes around your house. We reinforced this with our shape walk in the neighborhood, followed by the felt shape art collage and then the “build a house from paper shapes” project.
