MONDAY-WEDNESDAY-FRIDAY

This group of children is slightly older than the T-Th Little Friends class, and younger than the T-W-Th group. Kids this age are interested in collaborating with their friends, not just playing next to them, are able to participate as a member of a group, and can self-confidently separate from parents. Compared to the T-Th class, Kirkland Preschool's M-W-F class features more independent activities, more decision-making by the students, more dramatic play to foster imagination, and some local family participation field trips. Our teachers are Patrice, Karla and Jenni.

SCHOOL HOURS

· Mon/Wed/Fri. (3–4½ yrs.)

· A.M. Session - 9:10 to 11:40

· P.M. Session - 12:40 to 3:10

PARENT HELPER DAYS

We have a sign-up sheet for parents to indicate the days they will assist in the classroom. If for some reason you cannot attend class that day, please accept responsibility for contacting other parents within your child's session to arrange for a substitute. Our curriculum depends on your participation and interaction with the children on your scheduled day. Based on 12 children per class, each child's family should count on 9 or 10 helping days during the year (once a month). If a family does not take its turns, then the job falls - unfairly - on the other families. If a family does not meet its obligation, we may have to suggest a different school.

EMERGENCY SCHEDULES

When local news indicates any chance of storm conditions - even if your area is clear - listen for information on Lake Washington School District, or check their emergency closure information online at www.schoolreport.org. IF LWSD IS LATE OR CLOSED, WE WILL BE CLOSED. In the rare event we decide the school district is being too cautious (for example, if they anticipate a wind storm which may or may not materialize), we attempt to call every affected household. The school answering machine message will give you exact information if you are not sure. If we miss more than 2 days, we will make up the time with extended field trips or with additional days.
