IMAGINARY PLAY We just want to point out the importance of imaginary play. We believe that it is one of the best ways for children to gain skills needed for their lives.
· Thinking skills (example—judging & selecting relevant informa- tion to use when enacting play episodes) · Language & communication skills (example—expanding vocabulary by using a variety of props) · Social skills (example—negotiating roles & solving problems) · Emotional skills (example—learning how to gain some control over situations through pretend play) · Cooperation · Friendship (examples of these 2 points—becoming confident in others’ reliability to help out and make it fun!) —- Teacher Andrea
