Text Box: Happy Hearts Day!
We will be having a Valentine’s Day celebration in class on Thursday, Feb. 11. Grownups please join us at the end of class at 11:05 (am class) and 2:35 (pm class) for some singing and to open valentines.
We will have a valentine exchange in class at the beginning of the day. Please help your child pass out their valentines when you arrive at school.
About the Valentines:
They should not contain any candy or treats or food of any kind.
Be sure to include a valentine for your child. AM class has 11 students, and PM has 7.
Label valentines with your child’s name only. Do not put other children’s names on the valentines. This makes it easier for the children to pass them out.

IMAGINARY PLAY

We just want to point out the importance of imaginary play.  We believe that it is one of the best ways for children to gain skills needed for their lives.

· Thinking skills

(example—judging & selecting relevant informa-             tion  to use when  enacting play episodes)

· Language & communication skills

(example—expanding vocabulary  by using a              variety of props)

· Social skills

           (example—negotiating roles & solving problems)

· Emotional skills

(example—learning how to gain some control over              situations through pretend play)

· Cooperation

· Friendship

(examples of these 2 points—becoming confident in              others’  reliability to help out and make it fun!)
